Oh gosh, it finally happened. I knew it would at some point. I somehow managed to miss a day! Yikes! I realize I could cheat, but that would defeat the point. The point is to capture a little piece of every day, to be able to look back at the end and remember all the little small, happy, victorious moments from all the days. Now it will just be most of the days. Also, I’m having an issue importing some RAW files into iPhoto so Sunday Funday is missing.
This was a pretty hectic week. It started off with some sort of digestive ailment from the Bear, took us to Seattle for fun and story time with friends, and then out on a Sunday shopping trip, by Monday we all woke up with chest colds. DB has been going to bed around 1800 every night. Here’s hoping next week is full of sunshine and health. Oh and we got a Vitamix!

So April is more than halfway over and it’s been a total whirlwind. DB came home, we bought a new car, I went to Oregon on a weeklong exercise (and got seriously sunburnt), we had out first outdoor grill session, and then the Bear gave us both a digestive ailment that has left me behind in blogging and our house in a complete state of disarray. On the other hand, the three of us our a family again for the next few months before I head out on deployment. Here’s what the last couple weeks looked like.
02Apr: longer and longer
03Apr: A day at the farm

10Apr: No really, I’m not used to the sun AT ALL
11Apr: truck stop sunset
13Apr: Saturday morning routine
14Apr: Books are awesome
15Apr: Tired out
The sun was out a lot this week so we had a lot of outdoor time. You may recall taking the Bear outside is one of my 30 before 31 goals. I guess it sounds kind of silly, of course you’re going to take a kid outside and let him run around. However, when you live in the land of always rainy on the island of always windy, it can really be a challenge. Here’s hoping the rest of spring is as bright. Bears belong outside.
26Mar: The view from here
27Mar: Study, study, study
28Mar: Our rock collection
29Mar: 18 months old today. Seriously.
30Mar: Out on a walk
31: A Bear and his blanket
01Apr: Chocolate for breakfast on a Monday. Yes.
Now that we’re mostly recovered (do little ones ever really recover from colds? They’re pretty much snotty and sniffly all the time, it just ebbs and flows), it feels good to get back on track with the photos. We’re almost through the first quarter of the year! What a whirlwind so far. I’m glad that the sun is finally starting to come around and I can get away from all these “here we are hanging out on the couch” photos.
12Mar: Made it to the 3rd book. Worlds colliding
14Mar: Bacon cheddar waffle dinner
15Mar: The sickness begins
16Mar: And hangs out all weekend
17Mar: Now we both have it
18Mar: Lounge bear
19Mar: Mt. Cinnamon
20Mar: Camo socks and camo pants
21Mar: Waiting is the hardest part
22Mar: Budding artist
24Mar: I had such a craving
25Mar: Gonna miss this place
This past week has been very iPhone/Mama and Bear centric. Maybe it’s because we’re both feeling the toll of this deployment or the Bear knows he’s bound for daycare soon, or probably it’s just teeth. It’s always teeth. Whatever the reason, he’s wanted lots of hangout on the couch time, and with several days of cloudy/rainy/not quite spring happening outside I’ve been more than happy to oblige.
05Mar: I stick my tongue out in your general direction
06Marl My desk is a mess
08Mar: Cheerios in my coffee
09Mar: Happy Saturday
10Mar: Bowl head
11Mar: Work and Play
19Feb: Outside Time
20Feb: Oatmeal and new knits
21Feb: This shirt no longer fits
23Feb: Total pyjama day
24Feb: New clothes
25Feb: Game that I don’t yet know the rules to
I took a couple days off from the Internet for no other reason than I could. Of course, this did not preclude me from obsessively browsing Pinterest on my phone. Nonetheless, last week as previously posted was all about kitchen time. It seems like this week is all about kitchen misses more than hits. Right now the kitchen is both my personal classroom and therapy. I think sometimes the hardest part of a deployment is that last few weeks, when you know that you’ll be reunited soon, but just not soon enough. Here’s hoping March will fly and bring April quickly on it’s winds.
